The Palm Jumeirah Boardwalk in Dubai is gearing up for a grand opening this month, with truckloads of treats in store for visitors to this new attraction. Tractebel has concluded the detailed design and site supervision, working with local marine contractor Overseas AST Co Ltd on this project for Nakheel.

The Boardwalk will cover the entire 11km length of the Palm Jumeirah’s crescent breakwater, and will be home to around 20 food trucks. The Boardwalk has transformed Palm Jumeirah’s crescent into a vibrant destination in its own right for shopping and dining, as well as for jogging, cycling or a relaxed waterfront stroll.

The food trucks will be a big draw for island residents, tourists and the wider Dubai community. The Boardwalk is accessible from 14 points along the existing sidewalk and is on the doorstep of a wide range of world-famous attractions. It has been created by building over the rocks of the island’s breakwater and, at 6m wide, is more than twice as wide as the original crescent path.
